Frequently
Asked Questions (updated regularly) We are able to offer a minimum of 10 pairs of Roller Skates, any in any size from UK 1 to UK 12 in any combination. What deposit is required? For security reasons, we are obliged to ask for a deposit totaling 50% of the retail value. This is taken in a pre-authorised credit or debit card transaction for loss or theft of any products. Charges will appear on your credit or debit card for faulty, broken or missing items. What happens if I break my Roller Skates? If you break a pair of Roller Skates during your hire, please notify RollerXpress as soon as possible. Items such as toe stops and laces are replacable (so don't worry - there will be no charge for this). In the event of bearings failing or the hanger breaking as a result of a heavy impact such as jumping, we may charge a repair fee, as set out in the terms of hire. All charges are set out in the terms of hire - we only charge for the replacement of the part and not labour - typical charges are £2.99 per hanger or £1 per bearing. How much is collection & return? Prices will vary - please contact us for a quote. Depending on the size of your hire, you may be able to collect your skates from our warehouse in West London (W7) without a charge. Do I need Safety Pads and Helmets? It's entirely up to you. Most new skaters are likely to fall over on their hands rather than their head. You are equally advised to wear a pair of gloves when roller skating to protect the palm from scratches. Safety Pads are available for hire for £2 per set and Safety Helmet £2 each. Does RollerXpress maintain all the skates? Yes, absolutely. RollerXpress checks all Roller Skates on return for wear and tear, loose nuts and any defects which may present a safety concern to the next hirer. We also spray all skates with an antibacterial foot spray to prevent the build up of odours. We do ask all skaters to wear socks for hygiene purposes. I need a pair of Roller Skates for longer than a month. Can you help? Yes, we can help - we are able to offer longer rental periods, if you require. Please bear in mind prices are as low as possible, so you might be better off purchasing a pair of skates - check our our sales page for more information. Can you recommend any Roller Skate Instructors? Yes, RollerXpress has worked with many experienced Roller Skate Instructors and Professionals. We're happy to pass on their details upon confirmation of booking. I need to cancel my booking, what should I do? It's not a problem - just make sure you let us know as soon as possible. Our terms of hire sets out our standard cancellation rates. Please remember, if you cancel more than 4 weeks in advance, there is no penalty charge. Can you recommend any Skating Venues? There
are lots of suitable skating venues available. Sports Halls, School
Halls, Church Halls, Studios, Tennis Courts (amongst many others) are
available. All skates are provided with non marking wheels and toe stops
so there will be absolutely no chance of our skates marking the floor
of your hired venue. We are asked this
many times and have never had a problem with marking floors in over
25 years of skating. |
